How can you separate insecurities from a genuine gut feeling that something is off in your relationship? How can you tell the difference?

Insecurities are thoughts, they come from the conscious part of the brain so more precisely, from the part in your left brain who makes words. They come from your knowledge, so always are from your past, whatever that is.

Unconscious “gut feeling” (we don't use those words in French anymore) is more something related to a feeling, so it's not conscious and doesn't arrive to awareness with words (no words). Plus, you don't “know” how to justify them (no explanation). They just “are”, they surprise you.
