Is infinity also negative infinity?

User

Infinity does not exist. It's just a limit, a trick Mathematicians use to write equations which make sense only when “all” the values need to be considered together.

Like the sum 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + … only makes sense and give a nice neat value of “1” when “taken to infinity”, which means when considered with “all possible value” of “n” in the term 1/2^n.

Infinity is not a value, therefore you can't do Mathematics on it. It's a container, so it really is unlike everything that is contained. Which makes sense.
