Why is it that when things go wrong they come in threes?

They don't. But if you want that it's so, then it will be that way.

In quantum mechanics, things don't appear unless there is an observer. And more surprising than that, we can prove that before being watched, they don't even have a location or a state, and they keep themselves into a superposition of states unless seen, and the act of measuring them forces them to choose their states.

And don't ask the “why” for that, because nobody knows, and there even is a Nobel price awaiting the one who will explain it[1] . Therefore you won't find it on Quora, if it happens, you'll find it all over the news!
